This video was recorded in the small coastal city of Los Vilos in Chile, it is the
product of a residency held at the Bodegón Cultural of said town. This work
addresses the tension between nature, work and industries surrounding the
complexity of historical and social circumstances that overlap each other in
the region. In a kind of rereading that disrupts English romantic landscapes,
this video explores the layers of historical time, the way in which discontinuous
times of life and work (fishing, herding, mining) coexist in a place almost
strange to itself. Filmed with a single camera, the visual proposal is based on
continuous shots (travellings and panning) and on the surfaces and depths of
what is immediately apparent. With this it seeks to show the discreet discontinuity
of the vital and social time of a town located in the fourth region of
Chile..
