ORANGE LUSH

During the nineties new and strident foreign products inundated the Mexican economy. The colour orange became inevitable in the urban landscape, overtaking unofficial spaces in the form of a saturated periferal vison. Orange Lush is the orange of consumerism, the colour that dotes the object of attraction. It’s also the new object, plastic, - a corporal appendix or scatological colour. If in Bacon pink functions as the potencial of meat, in this series orange carnosity produces itself as visceral forms that make up fragments of eye popping plastic. The newness of fluorescent orange is inseparable from its throw away quality, hinging itself to the abandoned fragment that cannot degrade itself, mixing up consumerism, rubbish and entropy.
